The agricultural industry is the most beloved and nurtured trade practice in Moldova. Because of the Black Sea, the climate provides ideal sunlight for agricultural practices. Cattle farming and beekeeping are examples of viable businesses in Moldova.In 2018, Moldova produced 2 million tons of maize, 1.1 million tons of wheat, 730,000 tons of grapes, 174 thousand tons of potato, and 132 thousand tons of plum.Foreign investments in Moldova are tariff-free, which means that foreign investors may make any investment on Moldovan territory as long as national interests are not jeopardized. As a result, it is ideal and profitable for expanding businesses, establishing multinational corporations, and gradually improving life quality.The banking and financial sector is also evolving in this area. Currently, only 13-14 locally-owned banks operate and hold a market share; however, there are no official barriers for foreign banks to establish and operate branches in Moldova.The government is encouraging industries to hire people, build networks, and implement policies that will benefit the economy.
